Terms of Service for Roofer Answering
These terms describe your subscription, billing and responsibilities when using Roofer Answering. Review the service limits and call handling requirements before forwarding your number, then use the browser demo to hear how the receptionist answers.

Operator and Governing Law
TypeScience, trading as Roofer Answering, provides this website and the AI receptionist service under these terms. The governing law is California. References to we, us and our mean the operator; you and your mean the customer business using the service.
These terms cover your subscription, the handling of calls under your instructions and your responsibilities for the information you provide. Contact support@rooferanswering.com for service or account questions. Send questions and requests about personal information to privacy@rooferanswering.com.
Starting Your Account
You start through an email sign-in link and an onboarding chat with the AI. During setup, you provide the business details your receptionist needs, including services, exclusions, hours, service area, price policy and urgent-call contacts. The receptionist also uses the website content you direct it to.
You are responsible for the accuracy of those details and the instructions you give the AI. Review the setup before forwarding calls, and change your settings when your business information changes. You can tell the AI about setting changes in plain words through the service.
What the Receptionist Does
Your receptionist answers as your business once calls forward to it. You choose whether to forward all calls or only calls that are unanswered, busy or outside your hours. A forwarding guide and a test call support setup before you go live.
The service asks intake questions, takes messages, flags urgency and politely ends spam and robocalls. It can book appointments into Google Calendar or take details for your callback. It speaks English and Spanish, and callers can switch language during a call.
Disclosure and Call Recording
The receptionist states at the beginning of each call that it is a virtual assistant and that the call is recorded. Both notices stay in the greeting and cannot be disabled. Do not configure or describe the service in a way that hides those disclosures from callers.
You are responsible for your business greeting, policies and the accuracy of what you tell the AI. Review how the greeting and intake apply to your roofing business. Call recordings and transcripts provide a record you can inspect when checking how a conversation was handled.
Subscription Price and Usage
The subscription costs $249 per month and includes 500 AI minutes. Additional minutes cost $0.20 per minute, with overage minutes billed monthly. You can review usage in the dashboard alongside your calls, transcripts, recordings and settings.
Your subscription runs month to month and renews monthly until you cancel online. Included minutes and overage charges relate to the receptionist plan. Review your usage as part of managing how you forward your business number, especially when a storm changes the volume of incoming calls.
Free Trial and Conversion
The free trial lasts 14 days and is capped at 100 minutes. A card is required before call forwarding goes live. The trial converts only with a card on file, and we send a reminder email two days before conversion.
The browser demo is available without signup if you want to hear a sample conversation before requesting a free trial. Trial setup uses your business information and forwarding choices so you can assess the service on your own calls. Review the trial limits and account details before activating forwarding.
Cancellation and a Lapsed Plan
You can cancel online in one click, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the paid month. Monthly renewal continues until you cancel. Use your account to manage cancellation rather than relying on a message in a caller conversation.
If a plan lapses, calls go to your backup number or voicemail. Keep those arrangements suitable for your business so callers have a route when the receptionist plan is no longer active. Your responsibility to maintain a backup way to be reached also applies while you use the service.
Messages, Urgent Calls and Your Review
We send an alert for each call by email and app push notification, including a summary, urgency tag, transcript and recording. A daily digest email brings call information together for review. Your business is responsible for reviewing summaries and deciding what action to take.
For urgent calls, the service can warm transfer to your on-call person or page them in the order you set. With a warm transfer, that person hears a short summary and presses 1 to accept. Keep the contact order and your urgency instructions accurate as staffing changes.
AI Limits and Emergency Situations
The AI can make mistakes, and you must review summaries and keep a backup way to be reached. A call summary, urgency tag or response does not replace your business's judgment about the roofing work, a homeowner's situation or the next step.
The service is not an emergency service or a replacement for 911. Safety scripts tell callers facing a gas smell, a CO alarm, sparks or burning smells, or flooding near electricity to get everyone out and call 911 or the utility from outside. For a fire, the receptionist says, "Get everyone out first, then call 911 from outside." For a medical emergency or anyone in danger, the scripts tell callers to hang up and call 911 right now. The service then alerts your business. For an active leak involving electrical danger, safety comes before the on-call process.
Roofing and Healthcare Limits
The receptionist does not negotiate insurance claims or give insurance-claim advice. Give it instructions for routing insurance questions to your designated contact. Do not use it to promise a free roof or tell callers that insurance will pay for their work.
Healthcare use involving protected health information is not permitted. This service handles business calls for roofing companies, and its intake should focus on the work and contact information your business needs. We do not claim healthcare readiness, certifications or audits for the service.
Optional Website Chat and Lead Follow-Up
Website chat is an add-on that uses the same business knowledge and rules on your own site. Lead follow-up calling is a separate add-on for people who submit your web form and tick a consent box naming your business. The box must record their express written consent to follow-up calls from your business. Keep the consent records for any follow-up calls; they are your responsibility.
Lead follow-up calls occur within about a minute, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the person's time zone. The service makes one attempt plus one retry and honors opt-outs at once. It does not offer cold calling, calls to lists or calls to purchased leads.
Acceptable Use and Suspension
You must not use the service for illegal activity, cold calling, robocalling, impersonation or harassment. The consent-based follow-up add-on must remain within the web-form process and limits described here. Supplying a list of phone numbers is not an authorized use of that add-on.
We may suspend the service for abuse. Your business instructions must remain consistent with the service's permitted uses and fixed disclosures. You remain responsible for the policies and information your business gives the receptionist, including changes made after the initial onboarding chat.
Data Processing on Your Behalf
Your business decides what caller data is collected and why, and we process that data on your behalf to provide the service. These data processing terms are part of the terms of service. Processing includes call audio, recordings, transcripts, summaries and caller numbers, along with the business instructions used for intake.
Calls, website and demo chats, recordings, transcripts and summaries of trial and customer accounts may be reviewed by authorized staff for quality, support and abuse prevention. Access is limited to those purposes.
Service provider categories include hosting and storage, telephone carriers, AI model providers for voice and text, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. By default, our AI model provider, OpenAI, excludes our API data from model training. We never sell personal information or use callers' data for our own marketing.
Record Retention and Privacy Requests
Your business chooses 30 or 90 days of recording retention, after which recordings are deleted. Transcripts and summaries are kept while the account is open and deleted within 30 days after closure or on request. Closing an account and recording retention therefore follow separate schedules.
Requests for access, correction, deletion or opt-out can be sent to privacy@rooferanswering.com. Callers may contact your business or us. Our privacy policy for accounts and calls describes the information collected, provider categories, analytics and the roles of your business and Roofer Answering.
Service Basis, Liability and Changes
The service is provided as is. Liability is capped at the fees you paid in the prior 12 months. Review call records and keep a backup contact route as part of using an AI receptionist for your business.
We notify you of changes to these terms by email. For help understanding account settings or billing, contact support@rooferanswering.com. You can hear the receptionist before signup to assess its greeting, intake and responses before starting a subscription.
