Privacy Policy for Website and Call Data
This privacy policy explains how we handle website, account and caller information. Your roofing business decides what caller data it needs; we process that data on its behalf. Try the demo to see the records a conversation produces.

Who Operates Roofer Answering
TypeScience, trading as Roofer Answering, operates this website and the AI receptionist service. This policy covers information from website visitors, customers and people who call a customer's roofing business. It also covers demo calls and chats on this site.
You can contact us about privacy at privacy@rooferanswering.com. For account or service help, use support@rooferanswering.com. Callers may contact the roofing business they called or send their privacy request to us.
Our Role and Your Business's Role
Your roofing business decides what caller information to collect and why it needs that information. We process callers' information on your business's behalf to provide the receptionist service. The data processing terms form part of our terms of service.
For example, your business supplies the services, service area and intake instructions used to answer an inspection request. Those instructions shape the conversation and the information in the resulting call record. A homeowner's request about that record may therefore involve both your business and us.
Account, Billing and Setup Information
We collect account details such as your name, business name, email address and phone number. Billing is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.
We also collect your onboarding answers and content from the website you point us to. This information teaches your receptionist about your services, hours, service area, price policy and urgent-call contacts. Your instructions can include work you do not offer and details the receptionist should gather for a callback.
Call Information and Records
We collect call audio, recordings, transcripts, summaries and caller numbers when the service handles calls. These records support answering, intake and your review of the conversation. A roofing call may include a caller's contact details, property information and a description of the work they want discussed.
Calls, website and demo chats, recordings, transcripts and summaries of trial and customer accounts may be reviewed by authorized staff for quality, support and abuse prevention. Access is limited to those purposes.
Your receptionist announces that it is a virtual assistant and that the call is recorded at the beginning of each call. These notices cannot be switched off. Your business can review calls, transcripts and recordings through the dashboard.
Demo Calls and Website Chats
Demo calls and chats on this website are recorded and transcribed so we can show you the result. The demo lets you examine how a conversation becomes a transcript or summary before setting up the service for your business.
Information you say or type during the demo becomes part of that demonstration record. Use a fictional roofing situation when trying a scenario, such as an inspection request or a storm damage call. You can try a sample conversation to hear the assistant's opening notice and inspect its response.
How Information Supports the Service
Account details support your account and service administration, while onboarding answers supply the business knowledge used in calls. Caller information supports intake, messages, urgency handling and appointment booking according to your settings. The dashboard gives your business records to review and use for follow-up.
Call alerts go to your business by email and app push notification. They include a summary, urgency tag, transcript and recording, and we send a daily digest email. Website analytics help us understand use of this site.
Service Providers and AI Processing
We use service providers in these categories: hosting and storage, telephone carriers, AI model providers for voice and text, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. These categories support the website and receptionist functions described in this policy.
AI model providers process voice and text as part of delivering the service. Our AI model provider, OpenAI, does not use our API data to train its models by default. This default does not mean that call content avoids processing by the providers needed to deliver the receptionist.
Analytics and Cookies
This website uses privacy-friendly analytics and Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies. Website analytics are separate from the call recordings, transcripts and summaries created when you speak with a receptionist or use a recorded demo.
This policy identifies those analytics tools so you know that browsing the site and placing a demo call produce different kinds of information. Contact privacy@rooferanswering.com if your request concerns website information rather than a call to a roofing business.
How Long We Keep Call Records
Your business chooses a recording retention period of 30 or 90 days. Recordings are deleted after the selected period. This choice concerns recordings; transcripts and summaries follow their own retention schedule.
Transcripts and summaries remain while the account is open. They are deleted within 30 days after the account closes or on request. If you want to request deletion, email privacy@rooferanswering.com and describe the records involved so the request can be directed to the relevant account or business.
Sales and Marketing Use
We never sell personal information. We never use callers' data for our own marketing. A caller's roofing inquiry is processed on behalf of the business they contacted.
An optional lead follow-up service uses information submitted through your business's web form under its consent requirements. That service is for follow-up on the business's inquiry, rather than our own marketing to its callers. The service does not offer cold calling, list dialing or purchased leads.
Access, Correction, Deletion and Opt-Out Requests
You can request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, or ask to opt out, by emailing privacy@rooferanswering.com. California residents' rights apply where applicable. Callers can make requests through the roofing business or contact us directly.
Describe whether your request relates to a website visit, a demo, an account or a call to a roofing business. For caller information, the customer business decides what is collected and why, and we process it on that business's behalf. That distinction helps identify which business and records your request concerns.
Children and Policy Updates
This website and service are not for children under 13. The receptionist is offered to businesses for handling their business calls.
Policy changes are dated on this page. Check the date at the top when reviewing how we handle information. Send privacy questions to privacy@rooferanswering.com, and read our terms for customer responsibilities before forwarding calls to the service.
